How to Save Money on Golf Equipment and More. What most golfers don't know about saving money and enjoying the game more. It's as simple as this: Golfers can save money on golf and still play their beloved game.

Too many of us end up paying full retail price for clubs at a pro shop when great deals on the same equipment are available online. Or we cheerfully pay the posted greens fee when with a little Internet research we can find discounts as much as 50% to play at terrific courses all over the world. Then there's the double mistake we make on a golf vacation: first we overpay for the hotel room and then compound the error by paying too much for golf.

A vast universe of savings for golfers is right there at our desktop computer. All we have to do is know how and where to look. Besides opening our eyes to savings, we can become much more educated golfing consumers. We can discover discount travel packages to some of the top golfing resort areas in the world, including South Carolina, Florida or Arizona. It is definitely possible to play the courses you've always dreamed up and not have to take a second mortgage out on your house. And you don't have to limit ourselves to golf in the United States. On the Internet we can learn, for example, that it's possible to book a golfing cruise? Yes, you can golf on your Caribbean vacation! Or how about visiting great courses in Spain or the Mediterranean and still staying within budget. You can.

There are so many choices to save money on equipment that it's almost mind boggling. Besides discount retailers of brand name clubs, you can buy direct-from-the-manufacturer "clone" clubs that are nearly the same quality as the famous name clubs for a fraction of the price. You can visit auction sites and name your own price for the equipment you want to buy. You can sell your old clubs online and turn around and bid on new ones! It's even possible to have demo clubs delivered directly to your door, try them for 5 days and decide if you want to make a purchase. If you don't, just send the demo clubs back with no further obligation.

A lot of us have been conditioned to believe our passion for golf comes with a hefty price tag. With the Internet as our ally, that is not the case anymore. We can spend less, play more rounds of golf and have more fun.

Golf Equipment Tips. Are you the type of golfer who blames every aspect of the game down to your swing, posture, balance, tempo etc? If you are then you may have probably missed one vital aspect out of this equation. You could very easily be spending hours upon hours practicing aspects of your game which in fact may not require practice at all, have you thought that maybe you are using equipment which is not suited to either yourself or your style of play.

Simple isn’t it - the majority of golfers blame an aspect of the swing to a bad shot or a bad round of golf but if you are using unsuitable equipment then you are onto a loser right from the word go.

It might be worthwhile you utilising the following tips to ensure that you are using the right tools for the job.

If you are a beginner/junior and have chosen to play this game using a set of pre-owned clubs then you must ensure that you fully check your new golf tools prior to purchase with a very keen eye. Every aspect of the clubs needs to be checks, the shafts, club heads, grips are the initial parts which must pass inspection. Grips can easily be changed but check the price first, If there is damage to the shaft or club head then this is a potential hazard and you should consider leaving them alone. Prior to purchasing a set of pre-owned golf clubs always check how much they are to buy new - you will be surprised that some pre-owned sets are not much cheaper than a new set - especially if you have to re grip them or have some aspects rectified prior to playing them.

If you choose to purchase a set of pre-owned clubs or have a set of golf clubs which require re-gripping then you need to be careful. The grip on a golf club is the only contact that you have with the club, therefore you need to be sure that they are gripped correctly. You can purchase sets whereby you can grip the kit yourself, you need to ensure that you align the grip correctly. If you are not comfortable with performing this yourself then your local golf store should be able to accommodate you. When choosing a grip ensure that your hand size is taken into consideration, having big grips with small hand or having small grips with big hands can be disastrous to your game.

Always, always clean and change your grips regularly. You will shave shots of your round with this one tip alone.

Using golf clubs which are not fitted can and will lead to wayward shots. Every golfer is different in many different aspects and when golf clubs are manufactured they are designed for the average person of average size and stature. Can you guarantee that you are that person. If not then get your golf clubs checked, measurements will be taken and the fitter should watch you take a few swings, normally with tape attached to the clubs and a swing plate on the floor. At impact the tape is marked by the club hitting the floor and the fitter is able to determine what lie angle is optimal for you. The shaft will also be checked to ensure that it is the correct length for you. Having a set of custom fit golf clubs is like having a brand new set of golf clubs and is probably one of the best investments you can make in this game, at the end of the process you will have a set of golf clubs which have been professionally modified for your individual requirements.

One thing that you need to look at is that the golf clubs you play with, no matter if these are irons, wedges, woods or putters - they must match your skill level as a golfer. There are various different models of golf clubs on the marketplace - some of these clubs are designed for low handicappers, some are designed for mi/high handicappers and some are designed for all skill levels. If you are a high handicapper then playing with a set of clubs which are designed for low handicapper probably wont help your game.

One big point is that you must feel comfortable with the clubs which you have chosen to use - if you feel comfortable with the club you will not think about it and will generally make a better swing - the better the swing the more enjoyable the game.

Buying Pre-Owned Golf Equipment. If you are on a budget but golf is your sport of choice then you have many options to purchase pre-owned golf equipment. From gently worn items to golf cars that no longer suit the needs of fellow golfers there are countless ways to own high quality low priced golf items. And even if you are not on a set income there are many opportunities to find quality golfing items that are in great condition.

Golf clubs are a very intimate part of every golf game. Purchasing used golf clubs can be tricky but not impossible. If you are patient and have an idea what type of golf clubs suit you best, resale shops are a penny-wise approach to acquiring high quality low cost golf clubs. In looking for left handed clubs or other unique features you might be surprised how easily your search for used clubs will succeed in sound results. Whether you are on a budget or just like to spend your money in a wise manner used golf clubs are the ticket.

Gently worn golf shoes are not an uncommon purchase. Whether found at a yard sale, thrift store or a pre-owned golf accessory store, name brand and low cost shoes are an easy find. Here again patience will be a helpful tool in your search. There is a saying among resale shop patrons, “If you are looking for something specific, odds are you won’t find it until you have bought it new.” An open mind is also a very wonderful thing when shopping resale venues.

Used golf balls can be found by the bag at yard sales or thrift stores. These balls are a smart purchase and serve a great need by allowing the golfer a way to practice his or her golf swing without concern to the loss. Bags of tees can be found for minimal cost also. Ball washers, golf towels, and cleat wrench kits are all likely finds in the resale atmosphere. Head covers and other accessories are common among yard sales and in resale shops.

Golf cars and carts can be purchased used. Manual push or pull carts can easily be a high cost item. Purchasing gently used golf carts is another way to stay geared up with quality equipment while money remains in your pocket. There are websites available that make finding replacement parts for motorized golf cars a breeze. Even purchasing a golf car that needs a small amount of maintenance or possibly a new mechanical part or accessory is not an unusually bad decision.

Purchasing pre-owned articles is a great way to save money and most times you will find decent well taken care of products. In some cases there are safe guards to take into account so that you are not spending hard earned money on an item that will only cause you grief, give you a headache and cost you more money in the long run. More than likely your pre-owned, resold, or gently used equipment; accessories and personal golfing items will bring you years of happy use.
